Anahita Avestaei is an Iranian law graduate who had obtained her LL.B. from University of Shahid Beheshti and a Master of Law in Human Rights from University of Tehran, Iran. In 2010, she immigrated to Washington, DC where she successfully finished another Master of Law (LL.M.) at American University. She is currently obtaining a Master of Liberal Arts at University of Pennsylvania. From 2011 to 2014, Anahita focused on human rights advocacy for Middle Eastern Nongovernmental Organizations. In 2014, she began working in the immigration field with a focus on human rights related immigration procedures such as asylum and human trafficking visas. In October 2015, she started a new law firm, Law Office of Thomas Woodward with two others to pursue her passion for applying human rights at national level and helping victims of human rights violations with providing them a safe haven.
